“This is gorgeous!” — my honest feeling after trying out Veniero’s cheesecake. Day 3 in the NYC. Day 1 of the journey.
Here is a sneak peek of 1/5 the cheesecake I bought.

Yes, I bought a whole plain New York style cheesecake for myself. (Don’t judge me…oh and don’t mind the plate) I ate it every morning for breakfast and would do it again because it is simply outstanding.
To be honest it looks…plain…no toppings, no fancy stuff, just plain old cheesecake. (not for someone looking for visually attractive desserts) But they have done a good job.
When my spoon first dig in, it was smooooooooooth~
You eat with your eyes, and I know it sounds crazy: with your interaction with the food. (like the pressure I felt from my spoon)
It is the smell of cheese’s richness and subtle milky scents as undertone. Likewise, the texture is just about right, not too dense or too light. It is not super runny (perhaps 4 on a scale to 10), but maintains the cheese’s unique mouthfeel that wraps around your tongue gently but no need for any chewing action because it melts in your mouth. It is also smooth that you don’t taste any granular cheesecake mixture particles, plus one point for the finesse. That said, it comes to the sweetness level that is just balanced a bit up to the sweet side, thus I suggest you enjoy with a cuppa tea.
Viola, your perfect afternoon tea!

That said, one thing is noticeable is the lack of graham cracker base where it adds an additional layer of flavor, butter’s richness, and complementing texture. BUT, Veniero provides various flavor combinations through other cheesecake variations, so give it a try! Maybe the strawberry one will surprise you! Or you can be satisfied with individual cheesecakes or the Little Fellas ;) Aren’t they cute~
So HERE COMES THE QUESTION: Why Cheesecake?
Iconic, scrumptious, perfect, or whatever tags we gave it to show our adoration, I call it the taste of time.
Time is layered, its simple and complex, its your past your present your future. Your experience your worldview your knowledge accumulates over time, assimilate into who you are. Like a cheesecake, where slight sourness, sweetness, and milkiness combines your life. And after cheesecakes melts in my mouth: I am glad I have come so far and I appreciate what I have.
